There are so many people that don’t believe in God because of the injustices in the world. People ask questions like: If there is a god, why is there abortion? Why are there natural disasters? Why do people suffer? And I honestly don’t have all the answers.
But I wonder what the responses are like from those that found God in the midst of unimaginable suffering… Like the woman from the article in NK. How is there a god when she is forced to leave her own country, when her children died of starvation, or when the government killed her husband? If those that can say that God is still good in these circumstances, they must have found something that really was worth selling all they had to buy that pearl.
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
